Inviting Innovative ICT Companies to the Future of the Internet Pavilion

The OECD Ministerial Meeting on the "Future of the Internet Economy"
will be convened by the OECD and hosted by the Broadcasting &
Communications Committee (BCC) of the republic of Korea on June 17th
and 18th 2008 in Seoul, Korea.

    As the first ever OECD
Ministerial to be hosted in Asia, the Seoul Ministerial will address
the role of the Internet in the 21st century as a significant economic
and social infrastructure for economies around the world. With a strong
focus on innovation and growth, the Ministerial agenda will offer
prospects into the potential and challenges of the Internet economy.

    Some 2,500 expected participants will include more than 30 Ministers from OECD Member and non-member countries.


To mirror the Ministerial theme, the BCC will build a "Future of the
Internet Pavilion" in the World IT Show (WIS) which will be held side
by side with the Ministerial from June 17th to 20th 2008 - The WIS will
serve as an open platform for 700 exhibitors to launch and demonstrate
technological advances and it is anticipated to attracts about 200,000
visitors around the globe.

    The Future of the Internet
Pavilion will provide an opportunity to experience the latest
technologies and potential of the Internet. Featuring the Ministerial
agenda, the Pavilion comprises 3 zones: Convergence, Creativity and
Confidence.

Convergence Zone: This
zone will provide a better understanding of how disparate platforms
have converged through the Internet and how users can benefit from the
development of the next generation network (broadband convergence
network) and new triple (video, voice, and data) or quadruple play
(video, voice, data and mobile) services.
Creativity
Zone: This zone will feature how the Internet and ICT enabled research,
innovation and entrepreneurial activity to drive economic growth,
create jobs and contribute to the social welfare such as collaborative
work, health, education and environment through the "creative
destruction".
Confidence Zone: The
significance of maintaining and bolstering confidence in the Internet
economy will be underlined by addressing the security issues arising
from the ubiquitous and open Internet and interconnected information
systems and networks. This zone will exhibit effective ways to detect
and combat threats to security and consumer confidence and to protect
the consumers and users.

The ICT companies of innovative products, technology and services will
be given the opportunity to showcase their achievements in the Pavilion
to the technology-savvy public in orea, while exchanging knowledge and
information with experts and professionals of ICT sector, particularly
next generation network, e-Government, security and etc.

    The
Pavilion is also anticipated to draw visits of the influential figures
such as Ministers, leaders form the business, technical and civil
society communities that will be participating in the Ministerial
Meeting.

    The booth space rental (total size of 630 square
meter) and stand installation, including carpeting, electricity,
internet and English interpretation, will be furnished by the
Preparation Office. Exhibitors will need to bear the cost of freight
transportation and personnel's travel and accommodation.

    For
