On behalf of the Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC), Korean IT International Cooperation Agency (KIICA) and the Korean people I would like to welcome you to our web site.
What you have found here is access and connections to what is unquestionably the world¡¯s top nation in terms of wealth of communications infrastructure, in both fixed line and wireless communications ? the Republic of Korea. As a country Korea has the highest penetration of broadband internet and one of the world¡¯s most sophisticated bases of advanced wireless and un-tethered communications consumers.
At the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) in November 2005 in Tunisia, a conference managed by the ITU, Korea was formally declared number one in the DOI (Digital Opportunity Index), an index measuring a nation¡¯s overall competency level in IT.
Our purpose is to help Korean companies search for markets, and American firms search for suppliers of innovative products that will provide them with a competitive edge in a demanding and ever-changing global marketplace. Yet even when these business partners identify each other, there's often a gap between recognition and expectations. KIICA Boston bridges that gap by helping all parties attain a successful relationship.
I encourage you to browse our web site as well as the web sites of our client companies. And if you are interested in learning more about Korea¡¯s extensive and extraordinary base of innovative technologies, or how the KIICA Boston team can assist you, please contact us.
Yours truly,
Yoon Hong Cho
Chief Executive Director
